Some useful stuff

February 7, 2010

The new release of Utorrent has arrived.  The 2.0 version has much better bandwith-control, which can effect higher download speed.

If you need only a torrent client, I strongly advise this soft,  because of its small size and system resource-friendliness.

And something for relax:

Here you can find various TV series and even several seasons of them. The quality of the movies aren’t the best, but watchable.  All of them are in English.

That’s all for today, but I”ll try to write more often.

There’s something revolutionary in progress at Google. I’m really excited, it seems to be a good idea. Perhaps there’s an end of the reign of MS and Windows (especially on netbooks and mobile devices) ?

a bit longer, but also interesting presentation about the GCOS:

And finally, if you can’t even  imagine, how the Google Search works:

Tower Defense Forever

July 15, 2009

The tower defense is about killing the waves of monsters before they reach your HQ. They come along a fixed route, and you have to set up weapon stations along the road. The Hungarian development Gemcraft became the best Flash game (from 16.000!!!) on the net by the player’s opinion.  It’s not a simple tower defense game, it has quite complex system of weapons (called ‘gems’) to kill as many monsters as you can. There are additional traps and ‘shrines’ to cause more destruction.  It comes with a Medieval Age design, but I like it. It has 78 levels, and each level can be played in different game modes, so it offers you a very long gameplay, which is quite unusual. In spite of this, it won’t be boring, because of the good story, a lots of achievements, and collectibles. I can advise it for everybody.

Reckless Speeding

July 15, 2009

First at all, a quite simple game with basic graphic, Kamikaze Race. It’s quite short and hard, but enjoyable. The point is to dodge the other vehicles on the highway, and survive without crash as long as you can. Fasten your seat belts quickly!

Google Chrome

June 26, 2009

Now here is a great attempt from the brilliant team of Google: the Google Chrome. At the beggining I have to down it isn’t a full value browser but what it can it’s professional. When we open it the first feeling is the consternation because of the puritan exterior. Is that serious? But than we start to use it and we can’t give up, we just surf on the net fastly, efficiently, without stop, in real Google style. Unbelievable experience you have to try it. As nowadays expected the program display webpages on sheets in a window. The heading is a Google finder in one peace and there are two icon on the up right corner with base functions actually (textsize, print, history, downloads etc.). Downloads are shown on the bottom left corner and interestingly they are assigned to sheets so we see only that download what we started from the sheet. End. No more. The whole browser is that like the other browser’s full screen mode. Of course there are some small fineness. We can import our bookmarks from other browsers, there is a bookmark line under the heading, and with a little star icon we can add a new page simply. If we start a new sheet we can see the mosaics of our most visited webpages and on the right side we can see the recent bookmarks. Furthermore thereis an incognito mode where the history won’t be saved. Naturally the program can renovate session. It is interesting if we drag and drop a sheet on the right margin all pages will be visible on our screen. All in one it is an excellent program but in my opinion there are some big deficiency. There isn’t Google Toolbar for example, and there should be Google Preview and mousemotions.

Mozzila Firefox

June 26, 2009

As I promised I woluld like to continoue the summery with the Mozilla Firefox. I’m absolutely biased against this brilliant, userfriendly, fast and many sided program what isn’t a coincidence in my opinion. Its interest becoming higher and higher because more and more people come to mind for some reason and turn to the possibilitis of Firefox, Opera or maybe the Safari. The Firefox is a Mozilla project and now they are somewhere in the 3.0.6. version. Updates are regular and it isn’t taking place what sometimes in the products of Microsoft namely the freezing, system collapse and others. No. The Firefox, sorry for the expression, licks out our ass. Really. In all places it aspires simplicity and efficiency. Very useful funkcion (nowadays more and more program can do it) is the session renovating. If our system crashes our work and our seraching won’t be last. There are lots of plug in, skin and extension. I will make a useful list about them next time. Fans, modders never be asleep, additions come out daily. Moreover these are automatically istalled by the program and then it restarts. Naturally there isn’t data loosing too. Only disadvantage I think is that the program use relativelly many resources, manly RAM memory, but it isn’t too bad. A half hour work and downloading we can make the Firefox to a browser miracle. It can be everithing, which is linked to the net, for examle torrent and ftp client, blog and web editor and multimedia station. Try out is compulsory.
